The 1987 Brothers Varsity baseball team had great success in league play, finishing in third place with an overall record of 14-6. The team was led by seniors Pete Stoyan and Mike Sgobbo, who were among the league leaders in hitting. Other contributing seniors were: Henry Dotterer, Bill Blaisedell, Mark Taranto, Peter Pappas, and Joe Sawmiller, Steady
pitching was provided by junior Neal Shanahan, who pitched a no-hitter against first place Corcoran, while sophomores John Haas and Fran Stinziano provided quality play in the infield and at the plate. It is hoped that returning players: Scott Abdo, Bill Tangorra, Ben DiMauro, and Eric Stelljes will combine with bright new stars from the JV team for a successful 1988 season under Coach Tom Dotterer.
