types of holsters aren’t very popular in Florida. Kydex and polymer holsters are form-fitted to your firearm. They are available in a variety of styles, and they are a great option for concealed carry.
The most important thing to consider when choosing a holster is the type of clothing you currently wear. Here is an overview of several different options that are available. You can find images and links to each concealment option by visiting www.FloridaConcealedCarryLaws.com.
Popular Options for Men
Appendix Carry
This is my favorite holster position. Appendix carry means the firearm is between 12 and 2 o’clock on your dominant side. I know what you’re thinking, and yes, this is a high-risk area. However, I can assure you that I've been carrying in this position for 10 years, and I have three kids. I'm just saying... If you purchase the right-size firearm, appendix carry is extremely comfortable. The pistol is angled so that it goes right down the cress of my leg. I’m currently carrying a Glock 43 in an Alien Gear Shape Shift appendix holster. I normally wear a t-shirt and jeans, so this is the perfect option for me. If you’re a business professional who dresses with your shirt tucked in, I would recommend the Galco Tuck-N-Go holster. In my early days, I carried using this holster, and it worked great. I never once had a client notice that I had a firearm.
Inside the Waistband, 4:30
Another extremely popular position is inside the waistband at the 4:30 position. This position allows for lightning-fast draws and deep concealment. However, printing could be more of an issue when you bend over.
Pocket Carry
Whether your daily attire is a dress shirt and slacks or you wear shorts most days, concealed carry with a pocket holster is an amazing option. This holster easily fits into your pocket. From the outside it looks like a wallet, but on the inside, you’re packing six rounds of freedom. America. When drawing your firearm, the holster sticks to your pocket allowing the firearm to come free. Pretty cool, isn’t it?
Guys, choosing the right holster for you is going to require time, practice and experimentation. Just because I prefer a certain style doesn’t mean you will be happy with it. Do a lot of research and continue to try new things.
