Some dispiriting news…we’ve already received word that our annual main fundraiser, the Yarmouth
Clam Festival, has been cancelled for this summer. Their committee and our chorus are looking into other
ways not only to raise funds, but also to perform. One of the photos here shows the small amphitheater
the town of Yarmouth recently added under a bridge on Main Street. Right now, it’s an icy, cold and
windy spot. Come April, following appropriate guidelines, we’ll meet there to once again begin outdoor
rehearsals. Our hope is that the folks who walk about town in the evenings will be cheered as we sing
through our repertoire and work on new songs.
Royal River Chorus is optimistic. We feel hope
getting stronger again. We smell spring here in the
Maine. We hear birds chirping. We see crocuses
popping up from the warming soil. People are smiling
more. Most of all, we’re excited that Royal River
Chorus is still here, still viable. We have hope that
we’ll be singing, if not for larger audiences, than for
each other, together, much sooner than many of us
expected.
Cheers!
