We are excited to be moving to a new summer rehearsal space at the Pond Plain Improvement
Association building in Weymouth, which has a beautifully renovated (and fully air-conditioned)
space for us to use on those hot, sticky summer evenings. Their upstairs hall looks to be a potential
new performance space for IGC, and we hope to take advantage of that soon.
And we are sending a big congratulations to IGC member emerita Judy Wilmot, who in 2024
celebrated her 60th year of membership in Sweet Adelines. Judy is a lifelong barbershop singer, a
founding member of IGC, and someone who has loved and supported IGC and SAI for many
years. Judy was honored with flowers at the May Region 1 competition weekend in Springfield. A
big thank you to our former tenor and interim director Mary O’Loughlin, who is now singing bass
with Merrimack Valley; Mary picked up Judy’s flowers and hand delivered them to her after
contest. Thank you so much, Mary. And way to go, Judy! We love you!

IGC’s membership remains small, but I am proud to be a part of such a dedicated group of singing
sisters. Our tenors Mary S and Lora, basses Sue and Nancy, leads Adelene, Heather, Deanna,
Elena, and Barbara, my fellow baritones Cyndi, Jean, and Lia, and our interim director Pat, make
every Tuesday night rehearsal a joy to come to, with music, laughs and friendship from the
moment we walk in the door. Our goals for the rest of the year: continue to strengthen our sound,
improve our recruitment and retention efforts, and cheer on our Region 1 sisters at International.
