Cranberry Shores Chorus
We started 2024 with hope and optimism about being able to move back into our old rehearsal space.
Little did we know more challenges were on the horizon.

We could not return to our rehearsal space because of the continuing work of ridding the building of
asbestos, so we rented a local school’s music room.

Then in February, our director took a leave of absence for health reasons. We had already booked Chris
Powers, from Coastline Show Chorus, to coach us once per month, so she and our Associate Director, Sue
Martin, took up the coaching duties to prepare us for Region I Contest in May.

Then, in March we had our retreat with Karen Rourke, and Karen, along with Chris and Sue, worked us
hard and we really started having the confidence and hope for a good presence at Contest. And good it
was! Our chorus won “most improved,” quite a feat given the circumstances over the past several months.
