Sound of New England Chorus (continued)

We greeted a potential new member at the end of July. She was game for anything and jumped right in,
joining us in learning a new song. We were also joined by Val's daughter, Julia. We can only assume
she's been bitten by her mom's barbershop bug and hope that she will return to sing with us as often as
her schedule allows. We have been searching for a more permanent rehearsal space for many
months. The Bethany Lutheran Church has been so generous and gracious to allow us the use of their
sanctuary; however, it is not a space that we can utilize long term as our goal is to grow our
chorus. Currently the plan is for us to return to our former rehearsal hall at St. Mary Home in West
Hartford beginning in September.

SONE wants to wish all Region 1 participants the best of luck in the Phoenix International contest this
October. We will be cheering for you as you enter that great arena of barbershop ringing chords! Go,
Farmington Valley! Go, VOCE ! GO, SAFFRON! Knock their socks off!!
