. When I
asked what kind of pie she’d like me to make her, she replied,
“Chocolate.” I assumed that, being a twelve-year-old girl, she’d lean
toward the lighter side of chocolate, maybe even (shudder!) milk. (I
don’t know what I’d have done if she’d said white! Ye gads!).
But something told me I’d better ask her before jumping to
conclusions. “What kind of chocolate?” Her answer pleased me
immeasurably: “Dark. As dark as you can find.” So it follows that this
dark chocolate pie would have to be named after the chocolate
connoisseur herself.
