Strawberry Rhubarb Lattice Crumble Pie

. We’d walk our dogs a
mile down the road, past bubbling brooks and prancing ponies, and
—despite all the bucolic scenery—all I could think about was getting
my grimy paws on a few ruby stalks without the neighbors catching

me, so I could run home to pick a pint of wild strawberries in our
backyard and start making a pie! The tart herbaceousness of the
rhubarb combines perfectly with the bright sweetness of
strawberries. Nestled in brown sugar, vanilla, and butter, and topped
with lattice and sweet, crunchy crumbles, it screams summertime
with every mouthful.
