           smothering it all! This is a terrific     CAKE:
           do-ahead company dessert, made           1 package (16 ounces) angel food
                                                       cake mix
           by layering and then freezing angel
                                                    1 ⁄4 cups water
                                                     1
           food cake, ice cream, and whipped
                                                    1 ⁄4 cup Dutch-process unsweetened cocoa
           cream. You can add a drizzle of             powder
           amaretto or other almond liqueur to      1 ⁄2 teaspoon pure almond extract

           dress it up, and garnish it with
                                                    FILLING:
           grated chocolate and toasted
                                                    1 pint chocolate almond ice cream
           almonds if you really want to im -
                                                    1 pint vanilla ice cream
           press. Or if you are impatient, simply   2 tablespoons amaretto (optional)
