                 his cake is like that per -                garnish the cake with a
                 fect little black dress:                   necklace of edible flower

                 simple but stunning. The                buds around the base, a string
           ganache drapes over the cake                of red raspberries, sprigs of fresh

           much the way a pearl necklace slides      mint from the garden, rosy peach
           over silk. Depending on the season,      slices, or crisp Bosc pear wedges.

               A fast and memorable way to decorate
               this cake is to toast sliced almonds for 1
               to 2 minutes in a 350°F oven, just until  Solid vegetable shortening for greasing
               they develop some color. Let them cool,  the pans
               and then carefully scatter them over the  Flour for dusting the pans
