Fritos, Doritos, Bugles, tortilla chips, or potato chips
Pick one. A 9-ounce bag will make plenty of crunchy topping. Crush
the chips right inside the bag using a rolling pin (vent the bag first by
cutting a small opening or the bag will go POW!).
ROCKY ROAD
Makes 2 to 3 cups
Mini chocolate chips
Mini marshmallows, snipped into four pieces with lightly oiled scissors
Cracker Jack
Mini M&M’s
Toffee bits
Tiny nonpareils
Toasted coconut flakes
Candied ginger
Candied orange peel
Chocolate espresso beans
Salted, even smoked, almonds
Valrhona chocolate pearls
Tiny caramels
Little peanut butter cups
Mix and match as many or as few of the items listed here as you like.
It takes about 2 to 3 cups to thickly cover a pie. One cup will scatter
across the top of a rich pie, such as Grande Mocha Cappuccino Slab
