TIE-DYE CUPCAKES

WITH PSYCHEDELIC BUTTERCREAM

I was thinking of calling these M&M cupcakes, but after the cupcakes came out
of the oven I saw how the miniature candies had streaked the top of the cake. It
reminded me of the tie-dye T-shirts of the 1960s. They are fun to serve at a
sixties theme party or most anytime. Have fun frosting these little cakes. You can
dye the frosting hot, fun colors or fold the little candies into a plain buttercream
so the colors run. Groovy.

MAKES 22 TO 24 CUPCAKES (2½ INCHES EACH)

PREPARATION TIME: 20 MINUTES

BAKING TIME: 17 TO 20 MINUTES
ASSEMBLY TIME: 10 MINUTES
