Let’s face it. Holiday and special-day cupcakes are just plain fun. They’re
as enjoyable to look at as they are to eat. You might want to keep these
supplies on hand to make sure you have all the right stuff to make the
decorating festive.

Pans: Plain cupcake pans will do. But so will pans with heart-and star-
shaped cups, as well as cups in the shape of flowers. Shop for these pans
once the particular holiday has passed to find the best prices.

Cupcake liners: Sure, you can use pastel paper liners from the supermarket
in a pinch, but why not splurge here with fancy foil liners during the winter
holidays and festive patterned ones of the season? See page 19 for mail-
order sources, or check out your local cake-decorating shop or craft stores.

Sprinkles and baubles: Check out those same mail-order sources for extra-
fancy dragées and big, bold sprinkles to top cupcakes. Look for the Wilton
seasonal sprinkles packaged in a large canister for easy shaking. Check out
the coarse colored decorating sugars and icings in a tube from Williams-
Sonoma.
