Students in the Southern Signers sign
language club at Cowpens Elementary
School made 290 Easter baskets for
Mobile Meals recipients. After helping load
the majority of the baskets on the Mobile
Meals van, the students also traveled to a
senior’s apartment complex in the
Cowpens community to give baskets to
residents.
Kindergarten students in Melanie Moore’s class
Cowpens Elementary School
at Cowpens Elementary School were challenged
to give the principal expert advice on building a
tree house. These students then planned and
created their models.
Cowpens Elementary School
Kindergarten students painted pictures
of the pigeon from the Mo Willems book,
Hey, Can I Drive the Bus? They then
wrote persuasively about whether or not
the pigeon should be allowed to drive
and created QR codes to share their
writing.
Third graders at Cowpens Elementary School
enjoyed their Mystery Fractions learning
experience. Teams were each given a card
with a fraction. Using masking tape, they
created a fraction line and placed the card
face down on the part of the line that
represented the fraction. Their classmates
had to then determine what the fraction was.
