Tonya McCullough’s class at Clifdale
Elementary School built Oreo
towers. This taught students about
working together and the need for a
strong base to build on. Looks like a
delicious lesson. Let’s hope they had
milk!
Dede Frost, at Clifdale Elementary School, knows how to make
connections last! She and a former four-year-old kindergarten stu-
dent came to school dressed like twins. These great minds were
thinking alike!
District News
During the September 21, 2017 Board meeting, the following staff were recognized:
Martha Corbin – Cannons Elementary School music teacher, is
the recipient of a $12,00 Arts in the Basic Curriculum grant; and
Nicole Myers - Cannons Elementary School art teacher, is the
recipient of an $18,000 Distinguished Arts Program grant.
The following Clifdale teachers were recognized: Mike
Reid is a DonorsChoose grant recipient for a project
entitled “Apple Games;” Courtney Smith is a
DonorsChoose grant recipient for a project entitled “My
Wiggle Worms Need Stools to Get Their Wiggles Out;”
Caity Eason is a DonorsChoose grant recipient for a
project entitled “Learning in Color;” and Tonya
McCullough is a DonorsChoose grant recipient for two
projects: “Making Circuits to Teach About Tolerance”,
and “New Supplies for Our Boys and Girls Club
Basketball Team”. She is also the recipient of a Publix
Charities Grant for a third grade listening center.
