Cannons Elementary School’s first graders first used penny,
nickel, dime, and quarter flashcards to arrange their own quarter
and eighth note rhythm patterns. They then demonstrated their
ability to read and play their patterns. They finished their work by
using the cents sign when adding the value of all the coins.
Cannons Elementary School
Fifth graders at Cannons Elementary
School work in book clubs to find theme.
Cannons Elementary School four-year
kindergarten students participated in I Love You
Rituals from Conscious Discipline. This sweet
connection involves eye contact, touch, and
playfulness. Students enjoyed singing Twinkle,
Twinkle and participating in this ritual, that almost
always ends in an impromptu hug between
friends.
Middle School of Pacolet
Middle School of Pacolet hosted their first Community
Read Day, in observation of Black History Month. Students
enjoyed learning about various African American
experiences from the speakers, as well as a read-aloud
from their favorite childhood book.
Congratulations to the students at Middle
School of Pacolet who were selected by
their homeroom teacher as a student of the
month for February.
