Ready to Work is a career readiness assessment administered to all eleventh grade
students to determine student achievement in four key subjects: Applied Mathematics,
Reading for Information, Locating Information and Essential Soft Skills. Emma Bradley
earned Platinum Level, scoring a Level 6 in all assessments.
Broome High School’s track team excelled last year at the State
AAA track meet. Keyvon Graham and Jaquan Wilkins were on
the state championship 4 X 100 meter relay team. Jaquan Wilkins
also holds state championships for the long jump and triple jump,
and was named the State AAA Track and Field Athlete of the Year
by High School Sports Report.
Staff Recognitions:
Lisa Silver – Cowpens Middle School Teacher is the recipient of a $250 Pets in the
Classroom grant through Petco. Kyla Jeter – elementary teaching and learning specialist, is
a DonorsChoose grant recipient for her project, “Critical Thinking &Coding & Cuettos. Oh
my!”
Kristy Eubanks – Cowpens Middle School teacher is a DonorsChoose
grant recipient for her project, “Love, Hope, and the Immigrant
Experience”.
Donna Harward – Pacolet Elementary School teacher, is a DonorsChoose
grant recipient for her project: “Listen up!”
Madison Raines – Pacolet Elementary School teacher, is the recipient of
$500 through Scholastic Book Clubs and author James Patterson, to help
build a classroom library.
Tonya McCullough – was accepted into the Roper Mountain Science
Center’s 2018 Mini-Science P.L.U.S. Institute. She attended a course on
fourth grade science and engineering practices.
Greg Mack – assistant superintendent for finance and operations is the recipient
of a State Department of Education grant that will pay for one school resource
officer.
