Cowpens Elementary School
First graders at Cowpens Elementary School
celebrated Earth Day by learning about plant
growth. The students have been observing their
plants’ progress as affected by weather
conditions.
During a beautiful spring day, Cowpens
Elementary School four-year-old kindergarten
students enjoyed learning activities.
Cowpens Elementary School fifth graders
learned about the coastal environment
during their trip to Charleston.
Cowpens Elementary School third graders completed an
Earth Day lesson that taught them what happens to plants
and animals if they don’t adapt when their environment
changes. After reading The Great Kapok Tree: A Tale of
the Amazon Rain Forest in the outside garden area,
students played a predator-prey simulation game.
Following that, they did a fun Webquest activity to explore
what would happen to living things if the air’s oxygen
concentration changed, and, completed an Earth Day
Scavenger Hunt.
