As part of a unit on mysteries, third graders at
Cowpens Elementary School were given clues
each day during the week prior to the arrival of a
mystery reader on Friday. The children used their
detective skills to figure out the identity of the
mystery reader.

During their field trip, Cowpens Elementary School
second graders enjoyed the interactive exhibits at the
Spartanburg Science Center. The students also visited
the County Public Library.

Four Cowpens Elementary School fourth graders
were chosen to attend the countywide First Tee
event. In addition to learning golf skills, the
students were reminded of the importance of
good character.

Ms. Parris, representative from Full Sail
University, spoke to Mr. Thornton’s Java
II students and Mrs. Pennington’s
Graphic and Printing students at Daniel
Morgan Technology Center about
educational opportunities at the
college. Students experienced a virtual
reality tour of the campus, worked in
workshops creating film animation, music
and audio tracks, and played a video
game created by a FSU student.
