Second  grade  teacher,  Donna  Sanders,  was
                                                           elected  the  SCIRA  Distinguished  Reading
                                                           Teacher  of  the  Year  for  Cowpens  Elementary
                                                           School.















     On  the  Cowpens  Elementary  School  Morning
     News,  second  graders  Nestor  Levkovets  and
     Anna Genobles showed their projects.  Nestor’s
     helicopter,  made  from  cardboard  and  straws,
     and  Anna’s  notebook,  made  from  a  cereal  box
     and  scrap  paper,  exemplified  creativity,  the
     Character Word of the Month.





           Daniel Morgan Technology Center

                                                                          Sgt. Nix with the SC National Guard
                                                                          came  to  speak  to  students  in  the
                                                                          Culinary  Arts  program  at  Daniel
                                                                          Morgan  Technology  Center.   He
                                                                          shared  a  presentation  that  covered
                                                                          his  personal  experience  with  the
                                                                          National Guard, opportunities to pay
                                                                          for college, and to serve.











                   National      Technical       Honor       Society
                   students  held  a  bake  sale  at  Daniel
                   Morgan  Technology  Center  to  raise
                   money  for  the  NTHS  and  for  the
                   American  Cancer  Society.   Students
                   donated  baked  goods  and  volunteered
                   their time to work the fundraiser.  A total
                   of $335 was raised.
