Three for Three Honors event
Spartanburg School District Three will be holding the second annual Three for Three
Honors event on Tuesday, February 20, beginning at 6:15 p.m. in the District Three
Community Auditorium.
The purpose of the annual event is two-fold. First, it honors those who have contributed
their time and energies to the betterment of Spartanburg School District Three from the
community, faith-based organizations, and district family. Secondly, the program will
generate revenue for the Florence Moore Scholars Program. Since 2008, this program has
provided almost $79,000 in scholarships to Broome High School students to attend
college.
The evening will begin with a reception and silent auction. There will also be student
artwork for sale. Entertainment for the program will be students in the music program at
Middle School of Pacolet and Chosen Voices, a community gospel group.
This year, we will recognize Dr. B. G. Stephens, Community; Mr. Richard Wheeler, District
family; and the people and churches involved in the Blessings in a Backpack program
which provides food for our children in need over weekends and holidays: Cannons Camp
Ground United Methodist Church, Crossroads Baptist Church, Relevant Baptist Church
Eastside, Central Baptist Church, Cowpens First Baptist Church, and Montgomery
Memorial United Methodist Church.
The community is invited. Donations are appreciated. All proceeds from the event will
benefit the Florence Moore Scholars Program, Spartanburg County Foundation, Fund #
194.
