Cowpens Elementary School Kindergarten
teacher, Melanie Moore, was named Teacher of
the Year for her patience, leadership, and
personal interaction with students. Her
colleagues recognized her for having a
classroom that is “just what a K-5 classroom
should be: fun, laughter and learning”.

In their P.E. classes, Cowpens Elementary
School students enjoyed a game of
Skillastics. Using equipment purchased
with a Mary Black Foundation grant, the
students used a giant game board that
assigns different fitness skills. Teams
competed against each other, using
smaller game boards to perform the
exercises in their own space.

This Weeks Spotlight

Junior Scholars from Cowpens Middle School
and Middle School of Pacolet were recently
treated to lunch at the Piedmont Club. Junior
Scholars for Spartanburg School District Three
are: Cowpens Middle School - Kayla A.
Fletcher, Lily Mabry, Cameron Moore, Jared
Moss, Brody O'Brien, Samuel Shimanskiy,
Savannah Smith, and Bennett Sturgill; Middle
School of Pacolet – Lauren Bishop and Julia
Wall.
