Autumn Banks, a Pacolet Elementary School fifth grade student
will be highlighted in the April edition of Upstate Parent’s
magazine’s Students Who Make a Difference. Autumn was
nominated by her teacher Ivy Garner.
Four Pacolet Elementary School
fourth grade students participated in
the First Tee Challenge.
Third, fourth, and fifth graders at Pacolet
Elementary School explored
environmental problems created or
worsened by humans. The students
created Lego models to illustrate these
problems.
District News
Rodney Graves, principal at Broome High School (BHS),
has been named the state’s AAA Principal of the Year by
the South Carolina Athletic Administration Association. The
honor is given each year to a principal in each classification
who has shown outstanding support in athletics at the
school, region and state level.
“I am very humbled by this award. It is always special to be
recognized by your peers. I am blessed to work with out-
standing students, staff, parents and community at Broome
High School and in Spartanburg District 3. This award is a
reflection of the hard work done by our entire team,” stated
Graves.
Graves, who is in his third year as principal, will be honored
at the group’s annual conference next week.
