Daniel Morgan Technology Center’s
culinary students did a fantastic job
at the 2018 South Carolina ProStart
Invitational. The DMTC Restaurant
Management team placed first in
state and will travel to represent
South Carolina in the National
ProStart Student Invitational held in
Providence, Rhode Island this
April. The team won over $33,000
per student in combined
scholarships. Team members are
Lauren Caraluzzo, Danielle
Crocker, Zackary Moore, and
Mickela Smith. The DMTC Culinary
Team placed fourth in state out of
15 teams participating. Team
members are Faith Horton, Claire Morgan, Chrisjen Sherman-Samuel, and Stephen Moss.
Faith Horton, a Daniel Morgan Technology
Center Culinary Arts completer, is participating
in a work-based learning experience with
Chartwells at Broome High School. In addition
to completing the DMTC Culinary program, she
has also completed the Automotive Technology
program and is currently taking welding. We
look forward to seeing what Faith will be doing
with the multiple skill sets she has acquired at
DMTC.
On the evening of Tuesday, March 6, the Daniel Morgan Technology Center Chapter of
National Technical Honor Society inducted 94 student members. The induction ceremony
highlighted students’ academic achievements as well as the different service projects the
club has undertaken this year. Caroline Rogers, VR Counselor, was also inducted as an
honorary member in recognition for all she does for DMTC students.
