After brainstorming, reading articles and
working in teams to research topics such as
lighting, color, furniture and outdoor spaces,
Cowpens Elementary School ATLAS
students shared their ideas on school and
classroom design with Mr. Blackwood and a
District Three School Board member, Chris
Jolley. Among the more inspired ideas were
a school history museum and a “happy
health-room”.

Students and staff members loved
dressing up as their favorite storybook
characters for Read Across America Day
at Cowpens Elementary School. Lileigh
Grace Bailey and Missy James showed
their creativity with their Alice in
Wonderland Mad Hatter and Queen of
Hearts costumes.

Middle School of Pacolet

Mary Mulligan, Spanish teacher at Middle School of
Pacolet, created small learning stations. The stations
included various weather reports and forecast from
around the country, written in Spanish.

Students at Middle School of Pacolet practiced what to do in
case of a tornado during a statewide practice drill.
