Women Keep Silent In The Church

This is what I wrote in response to the Teaching of Faythe

HopeIntruth Butler who believes women are slaves and explains

it in a nice way. And all those who agreed with her, and

proclaimed me as a heretic. They discredited Paul whose word I

gave them and discarded it as trash saying that the only word of

truth that Paul ever spoke was "women keep silent in the

church."

Faythe HopeIntruth Butler was teaching: What is meant when

we read in 1 Timothy 2:11 where we read that women are

commanded to learn in silence and with all subjection? The

Greek work translated 'silence' is hesuchia and refers to

tranquility of spirit or a state of being undisturbed. Thus Paul is

not requiring Christian wives to remain absolutely silent but to

speak with calmness and self-control.

Exzucuh Thomas Williams replied to her: Paul was not talking

to Ministers he was talking to women who were not mature and

they were gossiping and trying to be controlling over their

Husbands. This was a common practice among the Greeks, their

women ran the house and were very out spoken, in other words

the Greek men were hen pecked. Paul was dealing with women

that were over bearing and trying to disrupt the church. He did

not tell them how to run their house, but they were not going to
