God, those who cling to it are cursed to live after the flesh. The
law is a vow that can only be broken by the Blood of Jesus.
2 Corinthians 3:13 And not as Moses, which put a vail over his
face, that the children of Israel could not stedfastly look to the
end of that which is abolished:
2 Corinthians 3:14 But their minds were blinded: for until this
day remaineth the same vail untaken away in the reading of the
old testament; which vail is done away in Christ.
2 Corinthians 3:15 But even unto this day, when Moses is read,
the vail is upon their heart.
2 Corinthians 3:16 Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord,
the vail shall be taken away.
Jephthah was a Captain of Israel, a mighty man and the Spirit of
the Lord was upon him. When the children of Ammon made war
with Israel Jephthah vowed unto God, if he would deliver
Ammon into his hands, he would sacrifice what ever met him
when he returned to the gates of the city. Jephthah won the
battle and in returning home his daughter ran out to meet him.
He kept his word to the Lord and sacrificed his daughter. Under
the law there is no grace, no second chance. The veil of the law
can be lifted from our eyes but we must look upon him whom
we have pierced. The Kingdom of God is permitting itself to be
taken, it is a new and better covenant; to those who press in and
take it by obeying the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
