12.The New Thing

Thus says the LORD, who makes a way in the sea, and a path in

the mighty waters; Who brings forth the chariot and horse, the

army and the power; they shall lie down together, they shall not

rise: they are extinguished, they are quenched like a wick.

Remember not the former things, neither consider the things of

old. Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth;

shall you not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness,

and rivers in the desert. The beast of the field shall honor me,

the jackals and the ostriches: because I give waters in the

wilderness, and rivers in the desert, to give drink to my people,

my chosen. This people have I formed for myself; they shall

show forth my praise. Again the Lord tells of the new covenant

he is giving us, like the parting of the Red Sea, this new

covenant will make a way for us to escape the enemy. As God

said he made the army of Egypt come to destroy the children of

Israel, he will bring our enemy forth against us so he also will be

destroyed by the fire of the Holy Ghost, as we pass through the

fire of the new covenant we shall not be burned, but the enemy

shall be burned like chaff. We are not to remember the former
