1. INTRODUCTION
1.1 HIGH CLASS GOLF COURSES
Skjoldenæsholm Golf Resort has been invited to be a member of the WORLD OF LEADING GOLF. (www.world-of-leading-golf.com)
Skjoldenæsholm provides an excellent opportunity to acquire a well-estab- lished property, which comes with a large area of two 18-hole golf courses, Robert Trent Jones Jr. Course and Old Course, a spacious clubhouse and sev- eral other facilities which ensure the best golf day experience for companies as well as individuals. The area of the property is characterized mostly by its rolling hills, several lakes, forests and a peacefully quiet environment. Skjold- enæsholm is invited to become a member of the exclusive World of Leading Golf. Skjoldenæsholm has two very well established and highly respected golf courses. The rst golf course was opened in 1992 together with a spacious clubhouse. This course is named Old Course.
Because of how successful and popular the Old Course was, it was decided
to build an additional course designed by the famous and well respected golf course architect Robert Trent Jones Jr., who designed another 18-hole golf course in a very high quality, which was opened in 2007. It is an impressive course with a unique location and it is surrounded by the spectacular Skjold- enæsholm Woods. Skjoldenæsholm Golf Resort is a very attractive golf resort in Denmark. The golf courses are extremely popular both among Danes and international golfers. The high quality golf courses were developed strategical- ly in order to stand out and to be a step ahead from the surrounding competi- tors.
The popular 36-hole golf resort is conveniently located close to the Danish capital city of Copenhagen. Together with all of its current members and guests, Skjoldenæsholm provides a considerable volume of regular players. In

addition, all of the other activities and facilities that Skjoldenæsholm can offer would ensure suf cient annual green-fees.
1.2 GOLFERS IN DENMARK
The popularity of golf in Denmark and the ability to play nearly all year round is what attracts many golfers to the golf resort throughout the year. The signi - cant increase in number of golfers in Denmark over the past couple of decades has reached approx. 150,000 registered golfers, out of which more than 50,000 are in the capital region alone. There are 3,9 mil. people who live in the great- er Copenhagen area. Therefore golf courses located in this densely populated area, including Skjoldenæsholm Golf Resort, are generally able to attract more visitors.
Since there are only two 36-hole golf courses on Zealand, this makes Skjold- enæsholm unique and much more attractive when compared to other compet- itors. Tourism in Denmark is also rising - in fact, Denmark has more foreign tourists than Norway and Sweden put together. Additionaly, the resort is re- markable with its exceptionally beautiful and slightly hilly landscape. Skjold- enæsholm has a great potential to be developed much further into a complete resort with a large number of accommodation facilities onsite. By exploiting these growth opportunities Skjoldnæsholm could be turned into one of the largest golf resorts in the region.
