Materials for Experiments
How many of these items do you already have? We’ve tried to keep it
simple for you by making the majority of the items things most people have
within reach (both physically and budget-wise), and even have broken down
the materials by experiment category so you can decide if those are ones
you want to do. NOTE: This material list is for the entire Experiment section
online.
Light Waves · Piece of plastic (like a plastic
spoon or cup)
· Water glass
· Metal pot or pan (not Teflon
· Clean pickle jar coated)
· Cooking oil, such as canola · Clean piece of white paper
(approx. 4 cups – use a cheap
brand) · Two pairs of sunglasses (the
polarizing kind rated for UV
· Two pennies, dollar bill protection work well)
· Flashlight Light Waves Part 2
· 1 teaspoon of milk (soy, cow…)
OR white flour · Small box with lid (like a shoe
box)
· 2 hand held magnifying lenses
· Tracing paper (1 sheet)
· Old CD you can scratch (used in
two experiments) · Microwave
· BIG bar of Hershey’s chocolate
· Paper towel tube
(any type)
· Feather (any size)
· Water in a shallow glass baking
· Index cards dish
· Crayons · Mirror (like a hand mirror from
· Bar of Ivory soap (get a pack of the bathroom)
