Read the play with a friend. Make up an ending for the play to show how the crow could be
clever.
One day a crow was sitting on a branch eating some cheese. A hungry fox
came along and began thinking of ways to get the crow’s cheese.
Fox: Good morning, Crow. What a beautiful bird you are. I wonder
if you could sing me a song as I am sure you have a beautiful
voice too.
Crow: Caw, caw, caw.
Thecheesefell out of thecrow’smouth assoonasshebegan to sing.The
crafty fox ate it.
Fox: Yum, yum, what lovely cheese!
Crow:Fox, that was an unkind thing to do. I was enjoying that
cheese because I had not eaten anything for a while.
Fox: You should not have been fooled by my words. You need to be
clever.
