            7. To plan an event with invitations, equipment lists and other arrangements
            8. To write dreams for the future

        LESSON 1

        Rewriting a psalm
Talk about the book of Psalms, many of which David wrote, drawing attention to well-known
ones. Emphasise that David wrote some when he was very happy and some when he was
struggling, yet he always talked honestly to God through them; he even asked God questions.

Use a psalm such as Psalm 23 for the children to adapt using their own words, e.g. The Lord
is my Rock, The Lord is my Friend, The Lord is my Fortress. The remainder of the changes
which the children make to the psalm must be consistent with their first line of who God is to
        them.

Let the children share their psalms at the end of the lesson or in an assembly.

        LESSON 2

        Writing a song or prayer
Spend time looking at some of the songs people wrote in the Bible, e.g. 2 Samuel 22, Judges
5, Luke 1:46, Luke 1:67, Luke 2, 29, Exodus 15. Discuss why people wrote the songs. Ask the

children to consider an event in their lives or in the life of the school, about which a song or
        thanksgiving prayer could be written.

        LESSONS 3- 6

        To create a school newspaper
Assign various children to the classes in the school to gather information about events,
answers to prayer, new children joining the class and other news. Let the children work in
groups to produce a page about each class. The page should include headlines, subheadings,

praiseworthy work from one or two pupils and short articles about that class.
