Unisa students at the Rustenburg Hub library
The UNISA Cape Town Branch Library celebrated the South African Library on 26 April 2019. The purpose of the event was to invite students to engage with Librarians on library related matters such as; how to use PressReader (an online newspaper), how to access books and electronic resources. Ms Thando Maswana and Ms Zingisa Maki, representatives of Kuyasa Public library were invited to the SALW event to give a presentation on the services and products on offer at public library facilities.

3.2.4. Unisa Library and the Unisa First Year Experience (FYE) Massive Open Online Course (MOOC)
During 2019, the Unisa First Year Experience MOOC was launched. The Library actively participated in the development of the MOOC by presenting library training using an online platform with a live chat platform for students to ask questions in real time. The Library was addressing the information competencies (library orientation, information search skills, etc.) needed by  rst year students.
