The Unisa Library was itself grateful to receive donations for the Johannesburg Branch Library from The Hermann Ohlthaver Trust. For the year 2019, a total of R135 000 was allocated towards this library. The money is utilized to purchase the much-needed books for the library’s collection.
7.6.3. Exhibition on 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence
The Unisa Library collaborated with the Department of Social Development’s Gender-Based Violence (GBV) Command Centre to observe the 16 Days Of Activism Against Women and Children. On the 25th November 2019, the campaign was launched at the Unisa Library on the Muckleneuk Campus. Students participated in an information session where they could ask a variety of questions around the important campaign. Unisa Branch Librarians set up a display on gender-based violence and invited guests from the Department of Social Development’s Gender-Based Violence
Command Centre to provide more information on gender-based violence and to distribute material on the subject.
