Chapter 1

Critical Incident on Georgia SR 316

The best way to analyze someone is by looking at the

                             consistency of their inconsistency.

                                     - WILLIAM ‘BILL’ MOYERS | Political Commentator.
                                        (June 5, 1934 - )

           Atlanta, Georgia

           JULY 14, 16:19 HOURS

           A

T AN INTERSECTION. THE STREETS ARE HOT AND HAZY -- TAD BIT --
before evening rush hour. A couple of vehicles, along with Alonzo's SUV,
wait as cross traffic drives through. He glances out the window, there is
nothing to his left, and none in the other side, except - a 2011 DODGE RAM 1500

TRUCK. Up close, the black, 4-door Ram 1500 stands menacing -- a customized grille
and tinted windows -- conveys vulnerability to someone who looks at it. Back at the
intersection, north-bound traffic waits for the traffic light to change. Soon enough,
the light turns green, the motorists rave their vehicles -- moving with the traffic --

through the intersection. Glancing out of a gray 2016 sport utility vehicle (SUV), a
40’s-looking, professional, African-American male catches a glimpse but does not
make anything out of the black truck -- traveling in the opposite direction.
