Have you ever lived through emptiness?
It’s nothingness will kill you.
Even grief has a subject.
Grief validates sorrow.
It’s ache eases with time.
And that is okay.

But emptiness.
Emptiness searches for meaning.
And finds none.

Even pain is beautiful.
Pain elicits sympathy. It lets them hold you.
And feel it.
But emptiness.
Emptiness swallows its salty tears.
And ends up thirsty.

Have you ever lived through emptiness – and shared it?
It will not sit alongside.
It will not befriend, or pretend.
Like other emotions.

Emptiness bellows.
Have you ever tasted the rare beauty of my brokenness?
Or drunk my erotic vulnerability?
Sit alone awhile.
It will make you feel.
Would you be able to handle it?
