AS NEW AMBASSADORS AND LEADERS
Samaritas has recruited new community leaders to serve on the Samaritas Board of Directors and the Samaritas Foundation Board
of Trustees. This new impressive group of diverse executives bring fresh perspectives and expertise to Samaritas.
New Directors of the Samaritas Board
Franz Salas
Salas is a Google Enterprise Account Executive assigned to Google’s Healthcare and Life Sciences Accounts in
Michigan. As a quota carrying Enterprise Executive, he’s directly accountable for leading the Healthcare and Life
Sciences Strategy and overall strategic healthcare industry relationships for Google in Michigan.
Latricia Trice
Trice is a Senior Corporate Citizenship Specialist for Amway North America. She’s leading the new Amway Global
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strategy focused on empowering women and others to be agents of positive
development for themselves and their communities.
Floyd Wilson, Jr., DHA
Wilson is the Chief Operations Officer for the Cancer and Hematology Centers of Western Michigan, PC. He
gives back to the community by serving as a board member with Goodwill Industries, Gerald R. Ford International
Airport Authority Board, Kent County Convention Arena Authority, West Michigan Policy Forum and Experience
Grand Rapids.
New Trustees of the Samaritas Foundation Board
Paul M. Balas
Balas is the Vice Chairman for the State of Michigan Board of Accountancy. He was appointed by the Governor
for a four-year term to provide expertise with respect to licensing and regulation of the accounting profession in
the State of Michigan. He’s been involved with numerous acquisitions, divestitures, restructurings, initial public
offerings, and leveraged buyouts for both domestic and multinational companies.
Kevin T. Blaser
Blaser is a Business Growth, Development & Energy Specialist at Migizi Economic Development Company. He’s
an innovative, performance-oriented executive with almost 30 years of project management, business development,
financial management, venture capital, strategy development and analysis experience.
Rev. Dr. Charles B. Hardwick
Rev. Dr. Hardwick “Chip” began serving as the Interim Executive for the Synod of the Covenant in spring, 2020.
Before joining the Synod, Chip served the denomination as Director of Theology, Formation, and Evangelism.
Before seminary he worked at strategy consultancy Bain and Company in Dallas and Madrid, and at Dow Corning
Corporation in Kentucky and Michigan.
Carolyn Russell
Carolyn is a retired Field Operations Officer for Science Systems and Applications, Inc. (SSAI) where she managed
a grant program for seniors at the United States Environmental Protection Agency in Ann Arbor. Her education
includes a BA from Cornell University. Carolyn is a Lost Voices Board member, serves on SI Committee of the
University of Michigan Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI).
