REVIEW AND RECENT ADVANCES IN PATHOLOGY AND THE TOO HARDS SLIDE SEMINAR
Camperdown, New South Wales
Convened by Prof Richard Scolyer, A/Prof Paul McKenzie, A/Prof Ruta Gupta and A/Prof Rooshdiya Karim, the Too Hard Slide Show ran as two sessions at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Camperdown in 2016 as part of an ongoing commitment to continuing education.These included several workshops and a Trial Practical Exam for Part 1 and Part 2 examination candidates. Small biopsy and cytology topics were catered for in workshops during the rst semester of the Too Hards.

The biannual Small Biopsy course, arranged by Dr Georgina England,was well received. It involved generous expert consultants who delivered wise overviews and carefully selected cases covering a range of organ systems that present as small biopsies.

The Microbiology trainee workshop highlighted areas of importance both in the curriculum
and in microbiology practice including aspects of diagnostic molecular microbiology, next generation sequencing, microbial typing, antimicrobial susceptibility testing and the future role of the Clinical Microbiologist.
