The annual Two Pair/ Fours
competition was held at
Cloakham Lawns, with 36
pairs entered the day gave
us some very good games
of bowls. With nine groups
of four playing on a round
robin basis.
Pairs winners Robert Bartlett & David Hayler with The winners from
organiser Caroline Pavey along with the other each group and the seven
Uppotery pair Pam Barlett & John Lyon best runners up qualified for
the next round.
Colyton Colywobbles gained a win over Cerne Abbas Stretch & Braces, Colyton Peglegs
lost out to Upottery City Farmers, Winkliegh Blues Bros beaten by Wonford's John Parnell,
Colyton's Bridget Hallowes gained victory over Beer's SAS, Upottery's Lion Bar lost out to
Hadspen, Colyton's Brab Hallowes won after a very tight affair against West Hill Canaries,
Oddcombe Blues gained the win over Nomads Young Ones Too and finally Uffculme's Golden
Boys lost out on a extra end to Nomad's Young Ones.
Next in the Quarter final Oddcombe Blues Dave & Jackie Collins edge out Nomad Young
Ones Sue & Ray Young after an extra end, Hadspen Sue Smith & partner lose out to Colyton's
Brab Hallowes & his partner Andy Thompson, Colyton's Bridget Hallowes and partner lose
out to Wonford's John Parnell & Pam Toleman and finally Upottery's City Farmers Robert
Bartlett & David Hayler edge out Colyton's Colywobbles Ken Spiller & Peter Morgan.
The semi final saw Odcombe Blues Dave & Jackie take control over Colyton's Brab and
Andy, while Upottery's City Farmers Robert and David do the same to Wonford's John & Pam.
