BELLINGER OPEN TRIPLES
BELLINGER OPEN TRIPLES
Bellinger Bowls Club hosted 12 teams for their annual Open Triples
Competition, in The Village Centre. This was the third running of this
event which has become a fixture in the calendar for local short mat
bowls clubs.
Twelve teams were made up of two representing our own club,
the other ten were from clubs in the Wiltshire and Hampshire area.
The competition lasted all day, after the initial ‘round robin’ the teams
were divided into 3 groups, the Main Competition, the Plate Competition and the Wooden
Spoon.
It was a closely fought competi-
tion with team ‘99.9MPG’ winning
overall, a team made up from our own
members, Mike England, Paul Eng-
land and Graham Browning. The first
time we have won our own competi-
tion.
Our other team ‘Mondays Mob’
came third in the wooden spoon,
which was certainly no disgrace given
the quality of the opposition.
The Village Centre has proved to
be a super venue for our competition,
with 3 mats laid out in the main hall
and the stage used for viewing for
those not playing.
The Bellinger Shield was pre-
sented to the winning team by Robin
Luxton, Club Chairman. Judging from Mike & Paul England and Graham Browning
the feedback from those attending being presented with the winners shield by
everyone had a most enjoyable day, Robin Luxton the Club Chairman
with good competition.
