Teams played on each of
the four mats over seven ends or as many as they could play in forty minutes.
The Quarter Finals were between the winners of Group A, 3G (Greg, Jamie, Joan & John
Wade) and Letchworth 1 (Alan Hare, Margaret Hare, David Grant and Bob Roberson) the Run-
ners Up in Group C, with Letchworth winning a close fought game 7:6; Winners of Group B, 4A
and Runners Up of Group D, Fintastic 3 (Christine Brown, Doreen Thompson, Carol Finn and
Peter Skippen), Fintastic winning the close game 6:5;
Winners of Group C, 3 Degrees (Josie Robinson, Sandra Stanton, Brenda Crowe and Neil
Paul) and the Runners Up in Group A, Island (Shirley Banner, Christine & Paul Reed and Phil
Banner) Island winning 10:5
and; Winners of Group D,
Courage 1 (Sue Pledger, Julie
Bottjer, Paul Mansfield and John
Pledger) and the Runners Up of
Group B, Greenwood Park B

For the Semi Finals the

the games were not quite so

To reduce any advantage, the mat for the final was put on the diagonal. It was a nip and
tuck game but Island managed to pull away to an 8:5 win.
The event ran like clockwork as a result of Steve Killington’s organisation, and he was ably
supported by: John Hurst and Peter Skippen as Umpires; Peter & Lesley Fautley and Paul
Cairns in the kitchen keeping everyone refreshed throughout the day and; Paul Bax running the
raffle.
