Karen Watson (Saltash) & Callum Beale (Withiel) topped Group Three with 6 +23 ahead
of Keith Matthews & Max Burden (Blisland) on 4 +19. The final qualifiers from the week- 19
end were Janet Carter & David Topliffe (Boscastle) with 6 +24 ahead of Joyce Harding
(Luxulyan) & Graham Ford (Ladock) 4 +2.
The eight successful teams returned to Carnmoggas to contest the finals. In the Quarter
Finals John Garrison (Penlee) & Kevin Williams (Newlyn Trinity) won 10-8 against Derek Foulds
& David Balow (Marazion). Karen Watson (Saltash) & Callum Beale (Withiel) defeated Elise
Daniell & Peter Hore (Holmans) 8-7. Janet Carter & David Topliffe (Boscastle) won 13-3 against
Diane Crocker & Shane Aldridge (Luxulyan). Ray Jeffery & Nigel Nicholls (Newlyn Trinity) won
17-7 against Sandra & John Worton (St Newlyn East).
In the Semi Finals Watson & Beale won 13-7 against Garrison & Williams. Jeffery &
Nicholls edged out Carter & Topliffe 11-10 in a very close game and in the final, Jeffery & Nicholls
beat Watson & Beale 11-10, in another very close game.
COUNTY TRIPLES
Thirty-One teams are entered in the County Triples at Carnmoggas, with play getting under way
at 0900. 90 players took part in the event with teams split into seven groups, the group winners
and one best runner up going through to the county finals.
Group One was topped by Michael Liddicoat, Glynn Roy & Callum Beale with 6 points +22
shots. Group Two winners were Betty Temple Smith, Max Burden & Keith Matthews (Blisland)
with 6 +21. In Group Three Nathan Waters, Ken Horrell (Withiel) & Luke Jolly (Holmans) qual-
ified with 4 +10 after losing their last game. Group Four produced the tightest finish of the day
with Elise Daniell, Nicholas Truscott & Peter Hore (Holmans) drawing the final game against
Martin Boraston, Caroline & Alan Trubshaw (Duloe) 8-8 to go through with 5 +20 and the Duloe
trio taking the highest runners-up spot with 5 +19.
In Group Five Lynn Smith, Bob Smith (Porthleven) & Frank Plummer (St Ives) won a last
game decider to finish on 6 +21. Group Six saw Richard Kerr, Dennis Shorthouse & Neil Gribble
(Landrake) win the group decider to finish on 6 +22. In Group Seven a 7-6 win in the final game
for Louise Williams, Nicola Ellis & Fran Phillips (Helston) saw the go through, finishing on 6 +6.
On Finals day, In the Quarter finals Martin Boraston, Caroline & Alan Trubshaw (Duloe)
defeated Betty Temple-Smith, Max Burden & Keith Matthews (Blisland) 14-12. Dennis Short-
house, Richard Kerr & Neil Gribble (Landrake) won 16-8 against Nathan Waters, Ken Horrell
(Withiel) & Luke Jolly (Holmans).

(Porthleven) & Frank Plummer (St Ives). Elise Daniell, Nicholas Truscott & Peter Hore (Hol-
mans) won 21-2 against Louise Williams & Nicola Ellis (Helston) who were playing with a player
short. In the Semi-finals Gribble won 10-6 against Trubshaw and Beale came from behind to
defeat Hore 11-10. In the end, Beale won the final against Gribble 13-6.
COUNTY FOURS
In the Quarter Finals, Peter Ramsden, Christine Kitley, Sandra Worton & John Worton (St New-
lyn East) defeat Leonard Lee, Roy Saxby, Caroline Trubshaw & Alan Trubshaw (Duloe) 8-7.
Simon Lees, Morgan Lees, Ray Jeffery & Nigel Nicholls (Newlyn Trinity) won 17-9 against
Nathan Waters, Glynn Roy, Luke Jolly & Callum Beale (Withiel).
Elise Daniell, Nicholas Truscott, Peter Hore & David Studden (Holmans) edged out Janet
Carter, Jane Spatchett, Bob Banks & David Topliffe (Boscastle) 8-7. John Garrison, Howard
McCormack, Annette Topham (Penlee) & Mark Payne (Penzance) won 11-8 against Stephen
Goddard, Carole Dunn (Penlee), John Thomas & Kevin Williams (Newlyn Trinity).
In the Semi-finals, Nigel Nicholls Four recorded a comfortable 10--2 result over John Wor-
ton’s team and in the other semi, David Studden’s team beat Mark Payne’s four by a 15-6 mar-
gin. In the final, Elise Daniell, Nicholas Truscott, Peter Hore & David Studden were in sparkling
form and defeated Simon Lees, Morgan Lees, Ray Jeffery & Nigel Nicholls 14 shots to 4.
