Discontinue ACE inhibitors 48 hours prior to exam; no diuretics 24 hours prior to exam

Evaluation of Grave’s; hyperthyroid or hypothyroidism; chronic thyroiditis; hot or cold nodules
2 hours prior to receiving capsule
Off thyroid hormones (T-4) 4 weeks; (T-3) at least 7-10 days. No IV contrast studies for 4 weeks
10 minutes initially to receive capsule; patient returns at 6 and 24 hours for scans
Diagnosis of pyelonephritis; evaluation of renal masses; quanti cation of renal function
15 minutes initially; 30 minutes upon return after 3 later
