Introduction
McLaren University (MU) is an internet based learning system which works on the HealthStream Learning Center platform. MU is designed to streamline your education experience. You will be able to complete courses on-line, enroll in face-to face classes and view and print your transcript. Your individual transcript will list the courses you have completed. Some courses will be assigned to you; others are elective. Continuing education credits will be available for some classes and you will automatically receive the appropriate continuing education credit based on your discipline and license information that you enter into the system.
We encourage you to access your computer while reviewing this booklet and "click while you read!!" Please save this booklet as a reference tool.
Tips: Please note that there is more than one way to accomplish a given task in McLaren University. The system is dynamic and is constantly being improved to be more user friendly. You may see subtle differences as you work with the system over time. Also note that any text that is blue and underlined is hyperlinked to another screen, page, or document.
How to Access McLaren University
1. Log-in to MyMcLaren. MyMcLaren is a part of the HR/Payroll system. This is where you will find your 6 digit employee number. It is located on the browser tab between your name and the subsidiary where you work.
2. Click on the “Text Link” to McLaren University.
You may also access the McLaren University Login screen on any internet browser by
entering the URL address: mu.mclaren.org.
3. Enter your 6 digit employee number in the User ID and Password fields and then click
“Login.” You will be asked to change your password. Once you have correctly reset your new password, you will get a message stating “You have successfully changed your password.” From this point forward, your User ID for McLaren University will be your 6 digit employee number and your password will be the one you just reset. Click the “Login” button. (See “My Profile” in this booklet for information about how to change your password and password reminder.)
4. When you log-in to McLaren University your “My Learning” page appears. Please note the menu bar has five tabs: My Learning, My Transcript, Catalog, Hospital Direct, and My Profile. There is also a Site Map, a ?Help Button, and a Log Out (text) option. See below.
