Dr. Moïse official becomes Colonel








         A
                   quiet-spoken but forceful champion of the
                   causes of his fellow Haitians, Dr.  Moïse is
                   deeply involved with south Florida’s Haitian
                   community, rendering medical  assistance
         and representation.  Between 1984 and 1990 he co-
         hosted two weekly radio programs aimed at educating
         South Florida’s Haitian  population  on medical  issues
         and concerns.  At the start of the AIDS epidemic, Dr.
         Moïse was successful in spearheading a highly success-
         ful campaign to remove what he saw as an unfounded
         stigma  by the U.S. Food and Drug  Administration,
         thereby enabling Haitian residents in Florida to donate
         blood through the American Red Cross.

         He is also the Founder and President of the Kenbe Foun-
         dation, a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to   Dr. Moïse official Military
         raise awareness and sensitivity to the challenges facing

         on” –help is on the way.  Kenbe’s principal goals are to
         improve health care and reforestation.  One of Kenbe’s
         first missions was to establish a dialysis unit in Haiti, a
         treatment which was urgently needed.  As part of Op-
         eration  Kenbe, Dr.  Moïse has united both Haitian  and
         American  entertainers to record a music video, “Join
         the Line”, to heighten  awareness of the plight of the
         Haitian people.  The “Join the Line” soundtrack is also
         the theme song of the 1997 NOAH awards Gala.

         Dr. Moïse is also a founding member of the National
         Organization  for the Advancement of Haitians. He is
         co-owner of access Health Solutions, a minority health-
         care  network dedicated  to  treating  underserved  popu-
         lations,  and  one  of the  largest  providers  of Medicaid
         services in Florida; and as Chairman of Haitian Affairs
         for the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce.
