gain, as is any other el-
ement, your use of out-
door furniture will be
Adetermined by the over-
all style of the space. However,
what kind of seating arrangement
you want to have is variable. For
instance, some people prefer full-
fledged sofas with cushions as seat-
ing for their outdoor spaces, while
others prefer light bamboo furni-
ture for the same. Don’t stick to
just one type of seating; use differ-
ent types of seating. For instance,
you could have stools, floor seating
with throw cushions, a hammock
and even a swing. Of course, a cof-
fee table is imperative in the entire
setting. All in all, don’t clutter the
space, imbibe variation, and make
the space comfortable with the use
of furniture.
Incorporated Garden Art that
makes you smile
Another way to create fun back-
yard designs is to include unusual
household objects that make you
look twice. I’ve seen all kinds of
crazy things used as garden décor
like: a Victorian wire headboard,
dishes, teapots, old rubber boots
planted with flowers and an antique
bathtub! The wilder, the better.
Throw in a Burst of color
Has your garden become a little
too serious? Is it prim, proper and
oh so perfect that it feels stiff and
cold. Well, displaying your favor-
ite things is great way to add some
garden humor. Decorating the patio
can be fun. Using the many back-
yard designs, the color scheme
can be experimented with. The
color could be one single color for
a soothing effect. Or, it could be
painted in different colors to make
it more lively and exciting.
Imagine green, green plants, than
a splash of red, purple or blue gar-
den art. Group items of like color
together to break things up and
send a fun and energizing message.
Give your friends something fun to
look and talk about.
