After a week of rain, grey skies and low average temperatures, Saturday 7th November 2020 was a very different day, the clouds had dispersed, the temperature raised the mercury to 34 degrees C!
A perfect day to take our 4X4’s out to play.
13 vehicles made up the group that headed off to tackle the muddy 4x4 trail at Sable Ranch near Hek- poort, Magaliesberg.

FUN DAY 7th Nov 2020
  After a hearty breakfast and deflating of tyres and checking that all loose items were tied down, we headed out to the trail.
Our fist obstacle was “The Playpit”, which was now just a mud pool. Never-the-less, we all dove into this obstacle without hesitation, and not long thereafter some vehicles had miraculously changed colour from white to orange.
Next obstacle was the Log Crossover. The only challenge on this obstacle was getting the Jimny with its narrow wheelbase over the logs, there was no limit for error!!! In the end everyone was successful in tackling this obstacle, most of them opting to use their co-drivers acting as guides.
It was then time to tackle the mountain route. (It was noticed that our President, Cilliers van Niekerk had forgotten to bring his lunch
challenge, but the views from the different vantage points were just awesome.
During our lunch break, we welcomed brand new members, Lambertus and Wilmarie van der Nest, into the Club, and this event, beit not in a Porsche, was their first Club event. May this be the first of many more events for you two.
After a relaxing lunch we headed down the mountain only to be greeted by the obstacle known as “Mount Everest”. If you view this obstacle on the web, you will find it with a smooth
gradient right up to the apex. In reality, this was not the case, as it now had some steep “mini cliffs” at the top, which meant that
