Black History Programming

               The LSBA's Diversity Committee’s Pipeline to Diversity and Outreach Subcommittee hosts CLE
               seminars in celebration of Black History Month. The seminars are co-hosted by Adams and Reese
               LLP.

               A webinar titled Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the Legal Profession was held on February 25,
               2021 via Zoom. The webinar featured the following speaker:
               Steve Pemberton, Workhuman, Framingham, MA

               The seminar entitled African Americans and Haiti: An International Perspective on Racial Justice
               and the Law was held on February 26, 2021 via Zoom. The webinar featured the following speaker:
               Brandon R. Byrd, Vanderbilt University, Nashville, TN

               Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) / Diversity-related

               Webinars on the topic of diversity, equity, and inclusion in the legal profession were held and
               featured the following speaker:
               Dima Ghawi, Baton Rouge, LA.

               The first session was held on September 3, 2020 and January 20, 2021 and titled How to Promote
               Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Within Your Firm.

               The second session was held on October 22, 2020 and January 21, 2021 and titled How to Develop
               a Diversity & Inclusion Strategy for Your Law Firm.

               A webinar titled The Right to Vote in America was held on October 27, 2020 via Zoom and featured
               the following speaker:
               Stephanie A. Finley, former U.S. Attorney of the Western District of Louisiana

               A webinar titled The Access to Justice Crisis for Louisiana Immigrants was held on November 19,
               2020 via Zoom and featured  the following speakers:
               Laila L. Hlass, Tulane University Law School
               Mary C. Yanik, Tulane University Law School Immigration Rights Clinic
