What’s In
In Lesson 1, we defined Contemporary Art as arts produced by living artists in the twenty-
first century that provides an opportunity to reflect on today social issues relevant to humanity,
and the world around us as art made and produced by artists living today. There are various art
forms in the Philippines. The seven major forms are: ARCHITECTURE, DANCE, FILM,
LITERATURE, MUSIC, THEATER and VISUAL ARTS.
What I Need to Know
At the end of the session of this module, the learners will be able to:
a. Describe the various contemporary art forms in the Philippines;
b. Display appreciation in one’s culture;
c. Demonstrate appreciation in the various forms of Philippine arts.
