of the cantonment area of this installation and on the edge of the
training area.
Sergeant 1st Class Charles Price, non-commissioned officer in
charge of the FASP, said the project took approximately two and half
years to complete. The facility provides storage and distribution of
class 5 supplies, such as ammunition and explosives.
The 11th ACR commander, Col. Kevin Jacobi, spoke at the cer-
emony and recognized Price and Warrant Officer 1 Kari Gibbs – 11th
ACR ammunition technician – for spearheading the construction of
the facility.
“[It was] the completion of a long journey by a very small team of
professionals,” Jacobi said. “Professionals who are experts at their craft.
Professionals who are driven by a set of values to make a difference
and accomplish something bigger than themselves.”
Jacobi also thanked other organizations for their part.
The event program listed the following agencies: 58th Combat
Engineer Company, 244th Engineer Battalion, 916th Sustainment
Brigade, 2916th Aviation Regiment, Northrup Grumman, Director-
ate of Public Works, NTC G3, Infinity Energy Construction project
manager and workers, and the Department of Defense Explosive
Safety Board.
The colonel also stated that the design by Price and Gibbs has been
praised and selected as a model for other FASPs. The DoD DESB has
asked them to design another for Fort Polk, La. That installation is
home to the Army’s Joint Readiness Training Center.
